Dumpster Diving Thursday

I have been known to drive through the neighborhoods around where I live in the predawn hours on big trash day and look for treasure.  Not long ago I found this beauty. She was missing a cushion and the rattan on the arms was broken and unraveling.  To repair the rattan on the arms I used some from another chair I found earlier and may be too far gone to repair.  I soaked the binding in water and then lace it around the chair arms.  I secured it with glue.  When all was dry I primed and painted it.  The seat is covered in fabric left over from another project. It has truly gone from dumpster to living room.

  12. What a great find! You did an amazing transformation. I wish we could find roadside treasures here. They don't allow us to put things out by our trash. It must all fit in the can. We have to take them to the dump or donation centers. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
